Hi all,
This is going to be my first English post in the blog. I hope you won't mind the change of language. I just felt like writing in English instead of French. Therefore, I though, why not (?)
Sooooo last weekend I turned 21. It now has been 3 years since I opened this blog. Time flies...
I thought that on this occasion, I would share with you some of my favourites: tv series, blogs, youtube channels, instagram accounts etc that I have discovered during this last year.
I thought that on this occasion, I would share with you some of my favourites: tv series, blogs, youtube channels, instagram accounts etc that I have discovered during this last year.
Let's go!
Top 3 tv series:
1) The handmaid's tale
Based on a book written by the Canadian author Margaret Atwood, this series sets in a dystopian post-apocalyptic world where most women have lost the ability to be pregnant. Therefore the "fertile women" have become very valuable to the rich fundamentalists that rule the country. These women are exploited for their ability to bear children, they are the handmaids.
The series is amazingly written, filmed, edited. Every episode leaves you astonished and full of philosophical questions (at least it did with me aha)

2) Outlander
Also based on a series of books, this series is the perfect mix between the two genres historical and fantastic. It begins with Claire Randall, who was a nurse during WWII and goes back to her husband at the end of the war. The couple takes a holiday in the Scottish Highlands and at some point upon touching an old stone, Claire is transported to the past 200 years before in 1747 rebellious jacobine Scotland.
Again another most amazingly shot series. The Scottish landscapes are just magnificient. The settings, the outfits, the accents are all perfectly thought about. Outlander makes you dive in 18th Century Scotland.

3) 3%
I am not a fan of thrillers but this netflix brazilian produced series really appealed to me. It is again set in a dystopian world where only an elite group of people live in an island with all modern technology whereas the rest of the population lives or should I say, survives in a dilapidated city. Every year some of them are given the chance to go to the island throughout a big ceremony but only 3% can succeed. They have to pass a number of tests with each one leaving many of the candidates behind either dead or at best giving up.
If the scenario can remind us at first of the Hunger games, it is not the same actually as this series seems to be using the dystopy to denounce inequalities in the world. It tackles the issue of management of human resources, sustainability and many other questions that I think are really thoughtful!
